PatioFun: MyGarden
In 2019, while in college, I started a garden on my back patio.
My grandmother always had one while I was growing up, which is probably why I felt so compelled to have one of my own. I started with green chili peppers, green bell peppers, and tomatoes. I planted them in some soil my grandmother had given me, and watered them every other day. Fortunately, my patio sat perfectly to where my garden received adequate amount of sunlight.
I had previously decorated and furnished my patio, so the garden was the icing on the cake. I had a small outside table set with chairs and a shade umbrella attached to the table. The table sat on a small patch of fake grass that stretched across the patio. I bought a portable outdoor, electric grill that sat on the side of the table. This was the perfect setup for the morning breakfast and mimosas my roommate and I enjoyed every weekend. I would definitely recommended spending more time on your patio. Given that it’s colder temperatures now, still find ways to spend time on the patio, especially if you’re someone who spends a lot of time indoors.
Once I move, I plan on restarting my garden. It brought me much peace and gave me a reason to get up and into some sunlight.
My patio activities: garden, yoga + music, reading, writing, praying, & working out
